Trying to take detailed notes while actively participating in a client call means picking one or the other well. AI meeting note-takers solve this by joining the call, transcribing it, and producing a summary you can review afterward — but they differ in where they're strongest.

What actually matters day to day
Summary quality over raw transcript accuracy
Most of these tools produce a workable transcript. The real differentiator is whether the auto-generated summary correctly identifies action items and decisions without you having to reread the whole transcript to check.
Where the notes end up
If you already use a project management or CRM tool, check whether the note-taker can push summaries and action items there directly — this removes a manual copy-paste step that otherwise defeats some of the time savings.
Client comfort with being recorded
Always disclose that a call is being recorded and transcribed by an AI tool where required, and be ready to turn it off for clients who prefer not to be recorded.
